Strong Crocs side battles the Power

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - SPORT -

SATURDAY saw the Crocs Reserves take off down the highway to play Pyramid Power at North Cairns Oval in drizzly weather that made for slippery conditions.

Port undoubtedly had its best Reserves team ever selected, with eight or nine players in the team having played for the seniors A team

First quarter saw the boys kick with a strong wind but poor kicking let them down in front of goal.

Some undisciplined Pyramid players back chatted the umpires resulting in two players sent off, and one reported.

At three-quarter time one point was the difference, in favour of Port, but Pyramid Power had a three-goal wind at their back.

It was goal for goal at the 10 minute mark of the last quarter, which left our boys looking good but Pyramid had other ideas.

Four or five shots on goal late left Pyramid with their noses in front as the siren went.

Still on top of the ladder boys, heads up regroup and get back on the winners list.
