Release to honour special duo
BRIGID George’s new murder mystery, is set in a fictional Buddhist monastery on Flagstaff Hill in Port Douglas.
The ebook will be released on October 19, the same day two people special to Brigid will be farewelled at Four Mile Beach.
When Brigid told Sylvia and Eric Barnes the setting for her fourth murder mystery was to be Port Douglas, they revealed it was their favourite place in the world.
Sylvia and Eric, who migrated to Australia from England in 1969, had once been Brigid’s in-laws and remained part of her life even after her divorce from their son.
Sadly, they both passed away before the book was finished; Sylvia in 2016 at age 90 and Eric earlier this year at age 92.
Brigid will honour them by releasing on the anniversary of their wedding.
On the same day, the Barnes siblings will bid their parents a final goodbye by spreading Sylvia and Eric’s ashes, as was their wish, at Four Mile Beach. Readers of
will glean a sense of the area’s beauty and unique environment as well as test their puzzle solving skills in this classic whodunit.
