Hollie chosen to represent Australia
HOLLIE Huffadine, 14, from the Mossman Pony Club is one of only 10 riders chosen by Pony Club Australia to represent Australia at the Caballero Pony Club in Wuxi, China.
Mother Zandra put forward Hollie’s name and she was chosen, according to Zandra, “because of what she has achieved in only 2½ years of riding”. Last month, Hollie was only one of three riders in her age group who jumped a clear round at the Edmonton gymkhana.
Hollie is excited about spending 10 days in China, leaving at the end of the month.
“It will all be so different – different horses, different coaching methods,” Hollie said, “and we will be in a really big equestrian centre with 13 instructors.”
The group, who will be escorted by a coach and a manager, will spend mornings with local families sightseeing, and experiencing local culture.
The afternoons will be spent at the Pony Club with showjumping and gymkhana games and a friendly competition on the last day.
