Finalists showcased at coolest short film festival
FIFTY of the hottest short films from around the world will feature at the coolest festival in the tropics with the finalists to be showcased under the stars overlooking the Daintree Rainforest and Coral Sea on October 26 and 27 for the 2018 Port Shorts Film Festival.

which will feature among 13 of the best short films from around Australia and the world in the Port Shorts Open Filmmaker Awards, competing for the $5000 Port Shorts Film Festival major prize on Saturday, October 27 in Rex Smeal Park, Port Douglas.
Mossman teen Jake Girgenti, who won the Port Shorts Young Filmmaker Award in 2017, has graduated with flying colours to also earn a finalist screening in the Open category with his funny short flick
showing alongside some of the most talented emerging filmmakers on the planet.
Port Shorts Festival director Alison George said the quality of films to be showcased at this year’s festival was exceptional and also encouraged locals and visitors interested in film to participate in one of the many Masterclass Series workshops and learn from some of the best in the business.
