We all know that how we feel emo­tion­ally can af­fect us phys­i­cally – con­sider the toll stress can take on your body. Ac­cord­ing to re­cent re­search pub­lished in Emo­tion, peo­ple who ex­pe­ri­ence a broad range of pos­i­tive emo­tions (that is, ex­cite­ment, awe, strength, hap­pi­ness and calm), have the low­est lev­els of in­ter­nal in­flam­ma­tion, po­ten­tially lead­ing to a re­duced risk of heart disease, di­a­betes and other chronic dis­eases. The up­shot, we should all make hap­pi­ness a health pri­or­ity.
