The Madison-Genesis team started out racing on the stainless steel Volare but they have WorldTour ambitions and as much as that bike is loved by riders for town centre crits – and by almost everyone for its looks – they knew they needed something cutting-edge to compete with the world’s best. The carbon fibre G-Zero was designed in the UK by the Genesis engineering team to be a true all-rounder – light, stiff, comfortable and also aerodynamic; the downtube and seatstays have Kammtail truncated aero profiles. A medium frame weighs 950g and this complete bike, featuring Shimano C35 tubular wheels, Dura-Ace Di2 and Pro carbon components, is right on the UCI limit of 6.8kg.
