With a slim lead of eight seconds going into the inal, mountainous day at the Tour de Suisse, Miguel Ángel López decides that attack is the best form of defence. On the last climb, the 2,383m Flüela Pass, and in horrendous conditions, López attacks alone, cresting the summit 30 seconds clear of his closest chasers, and another 15 clear of second-placed Andrew Talansky. López will be caught on the descent but inish with the front group, which is enough to give him his irst GC win as a pro, at the age of just 22.
