ARGON 18 NITROGEN PRO

Ex- road champ's aero rig

Procycling - - Prologue -

This Argon 18 Nitrogen Pro is like the bike Alexey Lutsenko used to win his Paris-Nice stage last year. That bike was special for the sleek one-piece aerodynamic cockpit he used. Alas, Lutsenko wasn’t at the BinckBank Tour, so this is the 2016 Kazakh national champion, Arman Kamyshev’s rig instead. Astana riders get the choice of two Argon 18 bikes for road stages. Most select the Gallium Pro, which is lighter and more suited to the climbers. This is the sleeker, more aerodynamic second option. It is equipped with integrated linear pull V-brakes by the specialist, TRP; the hourglass headtube gives way to a recessed fork crown and the cables are internally routed. Gearing is a mix of Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 levers and derailleurs coupled with top end, light FSA K-Force cranks and chain rings. K-Force bars and the stiff OS99 stem help keep weight down and the front end rigid.
