Moser leaves rivals & poor form behind
When Moreno Moser won Strade Bianche in 2013 at the age of 22, with a Tour de Pologne win already to his name, it seemed that a glittering future lay ahead. Yet since that March day five years ago, he’d won only a single race - a stage of the Tour of Austria in 2015. But he got 2018 off to a better start by winning the tough Trofeo Laigueglia solo, from a late 17-rider selection. Like Fabio Felline the year before, Moser won the race representing the Italian national selection rather than his trade team, Astana. But after years of mediocre form and injury troubles, Moser looks to have a new lease of life.
