Our favourite letter

Dear Editrix,

I was pleased to find the first edition of your magazine in Moruya Newsagency today and delighted to see a picture of Lourmarin. When I am in that part of the world I go to Cadenet market on Monday mornings then drive the ten or so kilometres to Lourmarin. I park facing the chateau and walk back to have lunch at Café Gaby and be amused at the passing parade. A highlight can be a Ferrari emerging from the lane on the right and starting to drive the wrong way up the lane. The locals’ pleasure is heightened if the Ferrari has D, UK, B or I plates on the back. I can recommend a visit to Lourmarin.

Eric Wiseman, Moruya, NSW Hi Debbie,

I can’t believe this! I was in Saint-Paul de Vence two weeks ago. My husband, myself and my special needs daughter were on a tour. We were almost worn out with the pace of the tour and I was disappointed that we had not seen the things I had read so much about ... then we arrived at Saint-Paul de Vence! My daughter and I were overwhelmed!

We sat down at the Place de la Grande Fontaine. We couldn’t move it was so peaceful; it seemed to cast a spell over us. It was early in the morning and the shopkeepers were opening their stores, then they all proceeded to greet their fellow shopkeepers. No noise, so quiet. It was like a dream. It was the highlight of our trip. All the bad moments were forgotten, I will never forget it. I have the photo on the bottom of page 67 as my screen saver. Thanks for a wonderful magazine. You have inspired me to return to Provence; not sure how we will get our daughter there but I’ll work it out.

Thank you,

Lynne Marshall
