The Australian Ballet – Giselle
13 March – 6 July, venues around Australia
Having gripped audiences the world over since it first premiered in 1841 in Paris, Giselle’s tragic story of love, madness and betrayal is played out in secret trysts and ghostly visions across two spectacular acts. After winning critical acclaim on the international stage, The Australian Ballet’s landmark production of this quintessential Romantic ballet will be touring Australia for the first time since 2006. Giselle is the signature work of Maina Gielgud and is brought to life by celebrated designer Peter Farmer’s atmospheric costumes and sets, as well as the melodic and charming score originally created in 1841 by French composer Adolphe Adam.
