The Daintree

Nicole Warne’s Instagram account (1.8 million followers and climbing) is littered with images of Florence and Paris. Now she has an Australian wonderland to share.

“I had never explored Port Douglas and the Daintree before. I’ve spent many Australian summers in Kauai – Hawaii’s Garden Isle – immersed in lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls. I never knew something similar existed in Australia and when I arrived, I felt embarrassed that I wasn’t more aware of the beauty in my own country. A tropical rainforest, a gorgeous humidity that lingers in the air and the faint sound of a running stream – it really was the perfect winter escape.

On our drive to the Daintree, we were welcomed by luscious green mountains, whitesand beaches with palm trees and sugarcane fields as far as the eye could see. The Daintree felt like a little piece of paradise. It exceeded all of my expectations and I just wish I had visited sooner.”
