Three other Cradle Mountain activities
Canoe on Dove Lake
Almost everybody walks the circuit of Dove Lake, pooled at the foot of Cradle Mountain, but better views come from the water. Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge (cradlemountain lodge.com.au) runs summertime paddling trips that take you under the nose of the mountain.
Climb the Cradle
If you have time and limber limbs, the craggy summit of Cradle Mountain calls. It’s a long day out but the climb takes you along the start of the six-day Overland Track to a final scramble through Cradle Mountain’s escarpment – and those views.
Dine with the devil
Evening feeding tours with Devils@Cradle (devilsatcradle.com) let you witness the poor table manners of the Tasmanian devil, as well as learn more about efforts to eradicate devil facial tumour disease.
