Glamping

Enjoy a gourmet picnic around a fire pit before camping – in luxury – amid the vines from which your welcome bottle of wine has been pressed at Cofield Wines in Wahgunya. Tents have kingsized beds, board games, fishing gear and the most important campfire ingredient of all: marshmallows. Visit victorias-high country.com.au.

Picnic

Pack a hamper and head for one of Mount Hotham’s many vantage points, all within walking distance of the village (mthotham. com.au). One of the most beautiful is located at the Silver Brumby Hut, built in 1992 as a temporary prop for the film The Silver Brumby. In summer it’s lush with wildflowers and set to the sound of Swindlers Creek.

Swag tour

Explore alpine Australia and its rich pioneering history during a guided tour with Aussie High Country Adventures (0488 040 308). Encounter the spectacular countryside of Victoria’s High Country and end the day by setting up camp, eating a fireside meal and sleeping beneath the stars.
