The Friday-night chook raffle is still held at the public bar where local brew Seven Sheds is on tap. The bistro deck overlooks town and the far-north-west coastline is a gathering place at sunset. Seasonal menus are proudly local – you’re likely to meet potato farmer Robert Smith dropping in with freshly dug spuds or the local fishers leaving their catch. Signature dishes include Cape Grim steak, crumbed scallops and crayfish – natural, mornay or with lemon butter.
