Akind and anonymous teacher in the US has kicked off a thoughtful movement to help students in need. Her proud husband posted an inspiring photograph and story on Reddit showing how his kindergarten-teacher wife created a ‘comfort closet’ for kids from kindergarten to Year 8. Items such as soap, deodorant and toothpaste as well as clothing are free to take for those in need. The special space was created from community donations and even school children buying items with their own money to help fellow students living in low-income families. This social media post has inspired others, with some schools creating ‘share tables’ where kids can drop off any food or drink they don’t use that day.
