Real Living (Australia) - - WANDER -

A WANDER THROUGH ANY OF THE RESORT’S ROOMS will have you running your fingers over hand-woven rattan pieces and custom linen upholstery (including bedheads), all the while appreciating the delicate minimalism, Sisal rugs, greenery and carefully chosen art pieces. Although international finds do make an appearance (you can’t ignore the stunning wrought iron chandelier from Italy), there’s a real celebration of homegrown talents, with Den holm planters and artworks by Byron local Todd Hunter.

But it’s not the wow factor that makes you fall in love with Rae’s, it’s the details. It’s the freshness of the sashimi, caught locally (naturally), that you can eat at Rae’s Restaurant. It’s the fact that you can grab a surfboard and go for a paddle just as easily as you can lose hours in complete indulgence at the spa (trust us, the Silver Rain treatment is a game-changer). Better yet, those tough decisions are made for you at Rae’s because the staff specialise in tailoring the experience for you, to create a truly individual stay.

And that’s the real beauty of Rae’s: there’s a special kind of effortlessness to the experience. You’re free to just “be” in the space, enjoying the calm, lounging in the ocean breeze and doing a whole lot of nothing… just the way holidays should be.

Sweet dreams The curved bedheads and hand dip-dyed bedside tables are just a couple of Tamsin’s favourite features, while the towels were custom-designed by Lucy Folk. Heavy load This amazing 500kg Den holm travertine table (opposite) had to be craned into Penthouse 1!
