We get our hands on the hottest new drum gear Natal Café Racer £889 |tal

Rhythm - - BEAT! -

At first glance the most striking thing about Natal’s new Café Racer kits are the classy, retro colours. Each high-quality lacquer finish marries the classic look of speedster cars and vintage drums, resulting in time-honoured style that will turn heads. The pictured finish is Seafoam Green lacquer, complete with complementary Ivory bass drum hoops and chrome-plated hardware. Other fantastically ’50s-style colours include British Racing Green Sparkle and Oxblood Suede.

Each Café Racer configuration consists of 6-ply, 6.9mm American Tulipwood shells, a wood characterised by its maple-style warmth and projection, but with a touch more dryness – perfect for the stage or studio. Shells feature slightly rounded, hand finished 45° bearing edges, plus Tru-Tune tension rods, high mass chrome-plated zinc sun lugs, NRM aluminium ball tom mounting system and sturdy telescopic bass drum spurs – the same hardware also found on Natal’s top-end Originals series kits.

The pictured kit consists of 10"x8" and 12"x9" mounted toms, 16"x16" floor toms and a 22"x18" bass drum, all for under £900 – that’s a lot of kit for your money. If you prefer smaller sizes, Natal also makes a 12"x8", 14"x14", 18"x14" configuration.
