Barry wants your Attention…
Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch has been filling Rhythm in on the wealth of kits and tones you can expect on the Florida rockers’ new album, Attention Attention. It seems Barry and drum tech to the stars Mike Fasano clearly had a blast, with Fasano’s incredible haul of kits available for the sessions.
“It was a breath of fresh air to actually have real drum sounds on the record and not just replaced samples,” Barry tells us. “We used a modern Gretsch kit, 1960s Ludwig jazz set, and a DW modern jazz kit. Also we used a large collection of snares and all sorts of percussion and other drums for loops and such. For the sessions in South Carolina at Eric’s [Bass, Shinedown bass player] studio we flew Mike in to tech, but used my gear and some ofEric’s collection as well. Primarily my Pearl Reference kit, my Ludwig 1960s jazz set, and a ’90s DW classic kit.”
