Drum Workshop goes electro!
Drum giant launches electronic brand
The Musikmesse Show always brings with it a bounty of beautiful new drum gear, but this year’s event really caught our eye with a potentially game-changing entry into the e-kit world from an acoustic powerhouse.
At the Frankfurt show, DW unveiled its new electronic drum brand – the suitably-titled DW e.
The move comes in partnership with longtime DW partner GEWA Music and includes the former’s trigger shells, hardware and rack systems alongside the latter’s G9 Drummer’s Workstation, electronic pads and cymbals.
“DW ’ s mission has always been to solve problems for drummers, so they can focus on their craft and be free to concentrate on what really matters – the music,” said DW Founder and Chief Product Officer, Don Lombardi.
He went on to say: “DW Electronics is an extension of our philosophy. Electronic drums should be reliable, effortless and deliver a seamless playing experience. We’re incredibly proud to make our entré into the world of electronic drums with the debut of the DW e product line which has been years in the making.”
DW e kits feature an array of lush features, such as all-wood trigger shells and Design Series mini turret lugs. They are available in Carbon Fiber Finishply and Exotic Walnut finishes with True-Rebound mesh heads by Remo USA and modular Trigger Zone playing surfaces. As if that wasn’t enough, they also ship with a complete line of newly designed DW e stands, pedals and rack systems which include a host of Drum Workshop drummer-friendly features tailored for the electronic player.
