THE APPARENT ABSENCE OF ADLER
Lamb of God drummer sits out US tour
He has been an immovable object behind the Lamb of God drum kit ever since the band’s formation in 1994, but Chris Adler has had to bow out of a batch of the US titan’s tour dates. Art Cruz is stepping in to replace Adler on the Slayer-supporting run.
Exact details on the reason behind Adler’s absence, and when exactly he may return, remain sparse at present.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Lamb of God said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you that Chris Adler will not be performing on our upcoming North American tour with Slayer. In his absence, we would like to welcome Art Cruz [Prong, Wings of Plague], who will be filling in at the recommendation of Chris. We expect to see Chris returning in the very near future. We will see you all on the road soon.”
As planned, Cruz was behind the Lamb of God kit and made his debut at their show in New Hampshire on 26 July. The tour, which also features Slayer, Testament and Napalm Death, is set to run until 26 August, when the jaunt rounds up with a show in San Jose, California.
