Service to remember young dad
A SERVICE to celebrate the life of 25-year-old Sam Fitzsimons will be held at Castlebrook Memorial Park, Rouse Hill, from 11am today.
The young father died after an allergic reaction to a suspected bee sting while mowing the lawn at his family’s Kellyville home.
His partner Melanie Riggot called emergency services when she found him collapsed in the bathroom on Saturday, April 1, just after 1pm. He was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition but died with his family by his side.
Hills police are preparing a report for the coroner.
Mr Fitzsimons and his partner were parents to seven-month-old son Hunter. The family have asked that in lieu of floral tributes people make a donation to Hunter’s future.
The former Gilroy College student was a Western Sydney University graduate.
He was a keen cricketer and a member of Hills Barbarians Cricket Club.
He had played at the Barbarians since he was a junior and was described by fellow club members as “a gentleman and a perfect role model”.
