Sure to be a rush for “Crusher”
Noel Cleal has left the Bulldogs after serving as recruitment manager for much of Des Hasler’s tenure at the club — but we can’t see “Crusher” being out of work for long. Word has it that Manly — where Cleal starred as a player in the 1980s — are keen to lure him back. Cleal is among the most respected recruitment men in the game and has a vast array of scouts in the bush, dating back to his own days as a player in country football. During his 21 years in recruitment with the Eels, Manly and Bulldogs, the top-grade sides have missed the finals just twice.
