KAHU’S CLANGER

Rugby League Week - - Letter Of The Week -

Jordan Kahu's error which cost Brisbane victory against the Sydney Roosters and potentially an Auckland Nines title was a cruel and bizarre way for the Broncos to lose and get knocked out of the tournament.

Sure, it’s easy to criticise Kahu for not taking his conversion kick in time, but if he was oblivious to the ticking clock, why didn’t the Broncos’ coaching staff or his team-mates point it out to him? On the other hand, if Kahu was fully aware of the clock and intentionally ran it down to the last second, then he deserves to cop it from all and sundry, in particular from his team-mates.

A thought should also be spared for those who invested their hardearned on a Broncos victory. They must have been absolutely livid.

The irony that shouldn’t be missed here is if the Broncos had gone on to win the title, Kahu would’ve been a big chance of being named the player of the tournament. GARRY JACOBS, ARUNDEL, QLD
