Bowing out the Corey Parker way
The Kangaroos fullback is signed until the end of this year, and wants to remain at the club and finish his career a Bronco — but he’s wary of going on for too long.
“I want to finish when I’m playing at my best and at the highest level,” he says.
“I don’t want to feel like I’m just hanging on or for people to think it was time for me to go.
“I want to be like Corey Parker, in a way. When he left he was still playing for his state and country.
“I never wanted to leave Brisbane, but I learned a lot in the years I was away. I grew as a person and I probably wouldn’t be where I am today without the ups and downs, and some of the things I went through and changed.
“I never thought I would get the opportunity to come back here, or to come back and [have] Wayne [Bennett] be here, too.
“It was a dream come true to return to the Broncos and hopefully I can win another premiership and finish my career here.”
