2016 finish: Finals week three

Rugby League Week - - Nsw Cup -

The coach says: The Tigers were 40 minutes away from making last year’s grand final – not a bad result considering the distraction of Robbie Farah’s feud with Jason Taylor. So it’s no surprise that coach David Heath talked about culture when asked how 2017 is looking at Concord. “Making the prelim final last year is a very good benchmark . . . The big thing is trying to get the team you’ve got to build a culture and that culture hopefully plays out week by week, and whoever comes in and whoever goes out and whoever gets an opportunity at the different levels is able to continue it,” Heath says. “That’s what JT’s been trying to do . . . the squad of 34-35, the training they’ve been doing has been outstanding. I know that JT’s extremely happy.”

Player to watch: Heath reckons they don’t come much more committed than back-rower Matt Eisenhuth ( left). “Matt’s just got a great work-rate, a great attitude, he wants to be better each week and he’s extremely coachable. He’s a little bit older and came across from Penrith and got an opportunity at the Tigers and he was one of our strongest members in the forward pack last year. He was a part-timer last year but has joined the full-time squad now, and from my understanding he’s been training really well.”
