Our units of measurement become more accurate
From late 2018, one kg will no longer be the same as it is now. Our system of measurement is to be renewed, and four units will be redefined to become as accurate as possible. The four units are kg (weight), ampere (electric current), kelvin (temperature), and mole (amount of substance).
Kg is defined based on a "kilogramme" prototype made of a platinum iridium alloy, but over time, this lump has become heavier. So, a kilo will be redefined based on the Planck constant - which does not change.
