In 1962, the US det­o­nated a nu­clear bomb 400 km above the Pa­cific Ocean. The ex­plo­sion emit­ted elec­tro­mag­netic ra­di­a­tion, which af­fected de­vices on Earth and de­stroyed eight satel­lites. Oops.
