Fishery Threatens Whales

Commercial whaling has reduced the number of whales by about 90 % in the course of a century. In 1986, an international agreement banned whaling in most of the world, but hundreds of thousands of whales still die annually, because they get stuck in large fishing nets or collide with ships.
