The Pick­led Cac­tus on Ox­ley Drive is awe­some for a fam­ily night out. Great food, the staff are amaz­ing and the drinks are di­vine! We head there for fam­ily cel­e­bra­tions all the time. You’re plan­ning a fun, lo­cal night out with your mates? Which three lo­ca­tions top your list and why? Hel­lenika Res­tau­rant at Nob­bys, Miami Marketta or… Hel­lenikas! Se­ri­ously, it’s the best on the coast. Best lo­cal spot for fam­ily hangs? We love Broad­wa­ter Park­lands and also Par­adise Point. There’s some great cafes around both of them too, so we can en­joy a cof­fee while the kids play. Fave Gold Coast shop­ping des­ti­na­tion? I love Pa­cific Fair and Robina Town Cen­tre. What makes that sub­urb the best on the GC? It has a great en­ergy with peo­ple run­ning and cy­cling along Hedges, the beaches aren’t crowded, there are great bars, restau­rants and cafes, and it still has a friendly com­mu­nity vibe.

Fave Gold Coast ca­sual din­ing lo­ca­tion? What’s on the menu? Mer­maid Beach Surf Club. We love the parmi­gana or lamb salad. Oth­er­wise, Palm Gar­den Chi­nese at Palm Beach where we love the chicken and cashew.

You’re plan­ning a fun, lo­cal night out with your mates? Which three lo­ca­tions top your list and why? Lit­tle Mer­maid has great, re­laxed dé­cor. Cam­bus & Wal­lace make great cock­tails with cool tunes. And Aloha is just a bit dif­fer­ent for a fun Fri­day night out with great DJS.

Best lo­cal spot for fam­ily hangs and why? Kur­rawa Park, Broad­beach. The kids can ride or scoot along the track and there are great play ar­eas for lit­tlies and older chil­dren.

Fave Gold Coast shop­ping des­ti­na­tion? Pa­cific Fair. I love all the new brands since it has been ren­o­vated and they kept so much of the out­door space. Also Har­bour Town to grab some good bar­gains.

Which sub­urb do you call home? Miami. What makes that sub­urb the best on the GC? I love the strong sense of com­mu­nity, the close prox­im­ity to the beach, the restau­rants and cafes, night mar­kets and the fact we are sur­rounded by like­minded peo­ple. That be­ing said, I grew up at Cur­rumbin Beach so it will al­ways have my heart, too. Fave place to stop, re­lax for 20 mins and en­joy a morn­ing cuppa? Hide n Seek Espresso with­out a doubt. They do the best cof­fee on the Gold Coast and the own­ers, Mark and Rosie, and their en­tire team are the sweet­est, most wel­com­ing souls you will meet. The food is all made in-house. It’s hard to beat the acai bowls at Salt Mill at Cur­rumbin and I just dis­cov­ered Easy House, a de­light­ful lit­tle fam­ily-run ve­gan yum cha at Mer­maid Wa­ters. De­li­cious!! Fave place to stop, re­lax for 20 mins and en­joy a morn­ing cuppa? Tallebudgera Creek mouth, Burleigh side, is heaven on earth. Cof­fee comes from Moto Grotto or Board­cul­ture at Mer­maid Beach.
