Students in JPS and JPP were busy making bridges in numeracy last week. After reading the story of the

the children spent time investigat­ing how to make a bridge and the best way to support it.

There could be future engineers among them.

At the end of last term, St Mary’s acknowledg­ed National Sorry Day and reflected on NAIDOC Week when they returned to school this term.

This year’s theme ‘‘Songlines: The Living Narrative of our Nation’’ is all about celebratin­g Australia’s indigenous history, culture and achievemen­ts.

Staff also used this theme in their profession­al developmen­t day last Monday.

On the last day of term two, St Mary’s students had collected 20 baskets of food and clothing for St Vinnies Winter Appeal.

Students from senior primary organised a disco for the primary students and collected a gold coin donation that was also given to the appeal.

Thanks to Imogen Cafasso, Madilyn Hager, Charlie Becks and Bella Carlin for organising the music and disco for the students.
