Seniors tripping here and there

Avenel

The lunch last Monday was enjoyed by all.

Thank you to Perfectfit Hosiery and Joanne for the display and sale of a range of socks and hosiery.

Date correction: Morning Melodies is on March 14. The trip to Shepparton will leave Avenel Hall at 9.30 am.

The cost of $40 includes the show and lunch. Time will also be available for some shopping.

Booking and payment must be made by March 1.

April 10 is our next in-house lunch date.

The group will take a day trip to Bright on May 6. Morning tea is included but make your own lunch arrangemen­ts — there are plenty of fine food cafes and eateries. Cost is $40.

Warrnamboo­l is a threeday, two-night trip on September 1 to 3. Cost is $495.

Bookings are essential with $100 deposit required. Nonmembers welcome.

Members have enjoyed events conducted by neighbouri­ng clubs, including a lunch at Avenel on Monday and Broadford’s coach trip to Mulwala on Wednesday. However, it was disappoint­ing that more members did not take part.

The next coach trip is to Arthur’s Seat Eagle Skylift. Cost of $40 includes the coach, skylift entry and morning tea.

The bus will depart Seymour at 8 am and pick up at Broadford and Kilmore on the way. Seats are still available, so phone Trish Wray on 0425 811 158 to book .

Expression­s of interest are being sought for a proposed eight-day trip to Tasmania in October.

This trip is not restricted to members.

The Kilmore Seniors have extend an invitation to Seymour to join their overnight trip to Albury on May 18. Cost of $75 includes most meals and accommodat­ion.

We have also been invited to join Broadford for a trip to Ballarat in June. Details will be revealed when finalised.

In club activities last week, Ron Ricardo was victorious in 500, while Pat Gear won euchre and the team of Elsa Gray, John Tencic, Icky Hoogstra and Hans Bothe tasted success in indoor bowls.

New players are always welcome for cards or bowls. Transport can be arranged if required.
