The welcome rain on Friday meant there was no six-hole social competition in the evening and it changed the playing conditions for Saturday’s par competition as well.
The best score of the day in the men’s competition was in A-grade with Dave Pearce (6) winning with +2 on a countback from Greg Pell.
B-grade winner was Gerry Bender (20) with +1.
Dan O’Sullivan was the nearest to the pin on the fourth, Chris Martin won both the sixth and the 12th nearest the pins and the 17th went to Gerard O’Sullivan.
The women’s Saturday winner was Sharon Cresswell (20) with -2.
The extra competition of the best second shot on the sixth also went to Cresswell.
The balls went to Cresswell and Dale Stuart with -4.
Finally, round three of the men’s pennant was played on Sunday.
The division two scratch team had a resounding 7-0 win over Hidden Valley when they met at Broadford.
The restricted handicap team played at home and had a 6-1 win over Lancefield.
The division two handicap team had the difficult task of taking on Woodend and suffered a 2-5 loss.
The social six holes this Friday are 1-6, and the game is stableford.
Saturday is also a stableford event for both men and the women.
