Gemma braves the shave

Seymour Telegraph - - NEWS - Gemma Leech (seated) part way through the shave with hair­dresser Re­becca Ash­field-Martin.

A brave Gemma Leech shaved her hair for a cure on Fri­day.

Ms Leech, 21, who at­tends the Goul­burn Op­tions Inc. fa­cil­ity in Sey­mour, de­cided to brave the shave for char­ity af­ter a friend de­vel­oped bowel cancer.

‘‘I’ve never done any­thing like this be­fore,’’ Ms Leech said as she ner­vously awaited the big buzz.

Gemma or­gan­ised the event with sup­port from Goul­burn Op­tions staff and ev­ery­one at the fa­cil­ity was there to join in by ei­ther colour­ing their hair or shav­ing their head too.

Re­becca Ash­field-Martin from Harper Rose Hair in Wal­lan kindly of­fered her tal­ents as hair­dresser for the day.

Gemma has raised $557.80 for the Leukaemia Foun­da­tion so far but peo­ple have up un­til June 30 to spon­sor a per­son par­tic­i­pat­ing in the World’s Great­est Shave.
