Garden show was a success
A great day was had by all who attended the Seymour Garden Club’s 34th annual garden show and photo exhibition on April 22.
Considering that it rained all day the day before the show, there were still an impressive 280 entries.
The rain held off for the show day and about 130 people visited the event.
Due to the late season and wet weather, the cut flower section was down in all categories.
There was a great display all round and a high standard in the potted plant section and the children’s section. The photos made a great display around two of the walls in the hall, creating a pleasant atmosphere for afternoon tea.
Thanks to those people who kept bringing plants to donate to our plant stall during the day.
The sales went well, with few plants left by the end of the day.
Councillor Bill Chisholm officially opened the show and presented prizes to the winners.
Thanks to everyone who donated prizes for the day, and thanks to all those who worked tirelessly before and on the day to help present a successful show.
