Nagam­bie wins in windy con­di­tions

Nagam­bie Ri­fle Club hosted Kar­ramo­mus on Satur­day.

There was a gen­tle wind which was enough to up­set shoot­ers and coaches, vary­ing the speed and di­rec­tion of shots.

The Nagam­bie team shot ex­tremely well to earn a well de­served win, scor­ing full points on the hand­i­cap sys­tem.

With one round to go the sit­u­a­tion is very close for the fi­nals.

Round four of the Goul­burn Val­ley Ri­fle As­so­ci­a­tion’s pen­nant has seen some ex­cel­lent re­sults carded.

The McAuliffe Shield hand­i­cap event saw Nagam­bie (900 points) de­feat Kar­ramo­mus (897).

East Cen­tral (896) beat Shep­par­ton Nathalia Gold (875), while Shep­par­ton Nathalia Ma­roon (891) de­feated Katan­dra (874).

In the Parker Cup the tar­get ri­fle scratch event saw Shep­par­ton Nathalia Ma­roon score 739.86; Katan­dra 730.50; Kar­ramo­mus 730.70 and Nagam­bie 397.24.

Barry Wood from Katan­dra Ri­fle Club and Phil Betts from Kar­ramo­mus were the only tar­get shoot­ers to gain a triple pos­si­ble on the day.
