Fund­ing for new and im­proved cul­tural precincts to strengthen com­mu­ni­ties, at­tract vis­i­tors and sup­port jobs in coun­try Vic­to­ria is now avail­able through the Com­mu­nity In­fra­struc­ture and Cul­tural Precincts (CICP) pro­gram.

The pro­gram will help build, re­store and en­hance cul­tural spa­ces across the re­gion.

Mem­ber for North­ern Vic­to­ria Ja­clyn Symes said the grants would im­prove ac­cess to ser­vices and en­sure com­mu­nity precincts sup­ported a range of cul­tural and tourism ac­tiv­i­ties.

‘‘Ev­ery day we’re mak­ing Vic­to­ria a state where ev­ery­one be­longs, and these grants will help more peo­ple share their cul­ture, con­trib­ute to the com­mu­nity and feel ac­cepted,’’ Ms Symes said.

‘‘The grants will pro­mote di­ver­sity by build­ing and im­prov­ing cul­tural precincts, en­sur­ing all Vic­to­ri­ans can en­joy our rich mul­ti­cul­tural her­itage.

Com­mu­nity groups, or­gan­i­sa­tions and as­so­ci­a­tions are en­cour­aged to ap­ply for fund­ing to sup­port projects in the 2017-18 fi­nan­cial year.
