Euroa show’s farms fo­cus

The Euroa Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety will stage its 127th show on Oc­to­ber 28 and 29.

The show’s theme is ‘Food Comes From Farms’, en­sur­ing that all mem­bers of the com­mu­nity, whether work­ing in agri­cul­tural in­dus­tries or not, are re­minded of the vi­tal role farms and farm­ers play.

The so­ci­ety aims to build on the suc­cess of last year’s show and en­cour­age as many peo­ple in the com­mu­nity to think about, talk about, com­pete in and at­tend the show as pos­si­ble.

A num­ber of new ini­tia­tives will be in­tro­duced this year, in­clud­ing the young farm­ers’ chal­lenge, the wild ac­tion show, a hay bale maze and a range of free chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties to com­ple­ment the al­ready pop­u­lar tra­di­tional at­trac­tions.

The Scare­crow Peo­ple’s Choice Award will also be staged for the sec­ond year.

The show will in­clude ac­tiv­i­ties such as yard dogs and horse har­ness events, stud cat­tle com­pe­ti­tion, sheep, poul­try, the hand­son de­light of the an­i­mal nurs­ery, cham­pi­onship breeds dog show, art, craft, cook­ery, pro­duce and pre­serves.
