Busy time for lo­cal par­ish

The Angli­can Par­ish of Cen­tral Goul­burn has been busy of late with St John’s at Nagam­bie cel­e­brat­ing its 130th an­niver­sary, and the Kids’ Club on Oc­to­ber 3 where craft, a pup­pet play quiz and paint­ing was en­joyed by all.

Fr Gary Ather­ton is cur­rently lead­ing a study based on C.S. Lewis’ book Mere Chris­tian­ity, which will run for eight weeks at the par­ish of­fice.

The par­ish will hold its an­nual gen­eral meet­ing on Oc­to­ber 29 at 10.30 am at Christ Church Sey­mour.

Fr Gary will be cel­e­brat­ing the 30th an­niver­sary of his or­di­na­tion to the priest­hood on Novem­ber 26, and parish­ioners from Avenel, Nagam­bie and Sey­mour are in­vited to at­tend.

The par­ish’s Mother’s Union will be meet­ing on Oc­to­ber 26 at 10.30 am at Christ Church, with their an­nual gen­eral meet­ing on Novem­ber 23 at 1.30 pm.

The an­nual Mother’s Union car­ols and lessons ser­vice will be held at St Paul’s Avenel on De­cem­ber 7, with mem­bers and fam­ily wel­come to at­tend. For de­tails, phone 5799 0283 or 5792 1101.
