The traditional Oktoberfest has been an important part of Bavarian culture since 1810, and is now celebrated all over the world.

The Munich Die Weisen attracts more than six million people each year.

It has been a full six years since Tooborac Hotel and Brewery launched its first OkTOOBerfest.

Each year the hotel hosts families, groups and friends to celebrate German tradition, craft beer and all things local.

Tooborac Hotel owners Valerie and James Carlin are excited about this year’s festival.

‘‘There is something for everyone at the festival,’’ Mrs Carlin said.

‘‘We offer a jumping castle and fun-filled activities for the kids, a wide range of craft beer for the adults and live music for everyone to enjoy.

Head brewer Pete Martin is celebrating his third OkTOOBerfest at the Tooborac Hotel.

‘‘We can’t forget our limited-edition German inspired brew,’’ Mr Martin said.

‘‘This beer is only offered once a year, so make sure you come and have a stein or two.’’

The venue will set up with the band on stage, brewery on show, outdoor food facilities and a children’s area.

Festivities kick off at 11 am on Saturday, October 28. Tickets are available online or at the gate.

All adult tickets include a 500 ml or one-litre stein filled with Tooborac craft beer. Children under five will be admitted free.

Nine craft beers will be offered on tap between the indoor and outdoor bars, with plenty in the fridge for patrons to take home.

Tooborac Hotel offers a wide range of awardwinning brews such as the Shearer’s lager, Stonemason’s pale ale, Gunslingers American pale ale, Woodcutter’s amber ale, Blacksmith’s porter, seasonal delights and the new mid-strength traveller.

Mr Carlin encouraged everyone to enjoy a taste of the country and a touch of German frivolity.

‘‘Come and enjoy the rich Tooborac atmosphere, great beer, great food with great company, Mr Carlin said.
