Show An­zac spirit

On Novem­ber 19 at 2 pm, the An­zac Trib­ute Show will be per­formed at the Com­mu­nity Arts Cen­tre, on the cor­ner of An­gle­sey and Loco Sts, Sey­mour and spon­sored by Ro­tary Club of Sey­mour and Sey­mour RSL.

The AN­ZAC Trib­ute Show fea­tures the Sun­bury Choral As­so­ci­a­tion and pro­vides a unique op­por­tu­nity to re-live the songs, cos­tumes and scenes from the World War I era.

The lo­ca­tion and tim­ing of the con­cert is sig­nif­i­cant and re­lated to the An­zac spirit with Sey­mour be­ing close to Puck­a­pun­yal and Armistice Day on Novem­ber 11 mark­ing the end of the First World War.

Also, the cen­te­nary on Oc­to­ber 31 of the Bat­tle of Beer­sheba, led by Aus­tralian Sir Harry Chau­vel, was a sig­nif­i­cant turn­ing point in the mil­i­tary cam­paign and con­sid­ered by many his­to­ri­ans to be the most suc­cess­ful light horse charge dur­ing the war.

All pro­ceeds from the con­cert are to ben­e­fit re­search into Post Trau­matic Stress Dis­or­der.

The cost for the three­hour show in­clud­ing af­ter­noon tea is adults $30, seniors $25 and chil­dren (3-12 years) $20.
