Con­sis­tency won the day

Seymour Telegraph - - SPORT - By Di­dier Sto­bart Sey­mour. Sey­mour’s Lach­lan Drum­mond, who took 2-7 off nine overs, fires one down to Kil­more’s Cal­lum Par­tridge.


Sey­mour v Kil­more Sey­mour has com­fort­ably beaten Kil­more thanks to some con­sis­tent team bowl­ing. Kil­more were held to 111 runs, with a top score of 40 from Daniel Clemm. Joseph Pol­lock was the pick of the bowlers with 3-18 off nine overs and three other bowlers chipped in with two wick­ets each. The run chase was never in doubt for Sey­mour as they made the to­tal in 29 overs with five wick­ets in hand. James Noo­nan was the top scorer of the match with 48. The win takes Sey­mour to fourth on the table. East­ern Hill v Roy­als East­ern Hill has smashed the Roy­als by 151 runs thanks to some con­sis­tent team bat­ting and an ab­so­lute mas­ter class with the ball. Tyler Pea­cock has taken an unbelievable 6/7 off just 3.5 overs to to­tally de­stroy the Roy­als’ bat­ting line up. The Roy­als had no an­swer for Pea­cock for kept them to 59 runs all out. Glen Lo­raine top scored for East­ern Hill with 47 runs open­ing the bat­ting. Puck­a­pun­yal v Tal­la­rook Puck­a­pun­yal was able to hold on for a gutsy draw af­ter be­ing on the brink of de­feat against Tal­la­rook. Tal­la­rook bat­ted first and made a solid to­tal of 159 thanks to a 62 from open­ing bats­men Dale Short. Puck­a­pun­yal looked in trou­ble dur­ing the run chase, los­ing wick­ets in quick suc­ces­sion, with no bats­men able to make more than 12 runs. They were able to some­how sur­vive un­til the end of play, end­ing the match on 9/61. James Bruce and Tim Muir fin­ished with three wick­ets each. Avenel v Yea Tigers Avenel and Yea Tigers drew af­ter the match was aban­doned. Yea Tigers were bowled out for 92 runs with An­drew But­ter­worth top scor­ing with 38. Avenel was on 2/23 be­fore the match was aban­doned. Other games Broad­ford de­feated Flow­erdale by eight wick­ets. Tay­lor Shell top scored with 34 not out for Broad­ford. Joshua Vilin­skis fin­ished with four wick­ets.

Alexan­dra drew with Pya­long. Top scorer was Gavin Thom­son for Pya­long, Chris Friswell took four wick­ets for Alexan­dra. Scott White­head top scored with 36 for Alexan­dra, Nathan Far­rel-Ryan fin­ished with four wick­ets.

Sey­mour Gold v Puck­a­pun­yal No­mads

The Puck­a­pun­yal No­mads have de­feated Sey­mour Gold by only one wicket in a close game that came down to the wire. Sey­mour Gold made a solid first in­nings to­tal of 134 thanks to a 55 from mid­dle or­der bats­men Daniel McLarty. Adam Blax­land was the best of the bowlers for the No­mads with four wick­ets. The No­mads were just able to chase down the to­tal with one wicket in hand thanks to a 55 from Steven


Mott. Daniel McLarty was able to make an im­pact with the ball as well tak­ing three wick­ets for Sey­mour Gold.

Puck­a­pun­yal Wan­der­ers v East­ern Hill

Puck­a­pun­yal Wan­der­ers have held onto a draw against East­ern Hill af­ter fall­ing be­hind a huge to­tal. East­ern Hill made a big to­tal of 210 off 40 overs, with Matthew Hall top scor­ing with 63. East­ern Hill was not able to bowl out the Wan­der­ers, leav­ing them on 6/87 at the end of play with no sig­nif­i­cant scor­ers. Alexan­dra v Nagam­bie Nagam­bie has de­feated Alexan­dra thanks to a big in­nings from Joshua Boyer in the mid­dle or­der. He scored 71 runs to take the to­tal to 164 off 35 overs and Alexan­dra could not chase it down. They were bowled out for 100 runs, with Daniel Burns top scor­ing with 39. Blair Tay­lorLloyd was the best of the bowlers with three wick­ets. Other games Pya­long 5/135 de­feated Kil­more 7/99. Top scorer was Lach­lan Bender with 67 runs. Ni­cholas Mon­aghan bowled 3/27.

Broad­ford Red drew with Broad­ford black. Conor Stute top scored with 44. James Hibbens bowled 4/24 for Broad­ford Red. Michael Mirabella bowled 3/21 for Broad­ford Black.
