Sey­mour turns 175

Sey­mour is turn­ing 175, and a week­end of cel­e­bra­tions is planned for Novem­ber 10 and 11.

On the Satur­day, a com­mu­nity street pa­rade from the top of Sta­tion St will be held at 2 pm.

The pa­rade will make its way to Kings Park where lo­cal groups will have dis­plays.

That night, a pop-up cin­ema will be­gin at dusk at Kings Park — bring a chair or rug and watch Red Dog in the park.

On Sun­day, com­mem­o­rate 100 years since Ar­mistice with a cer­e­mony at the Sey­mour Hospi­tal gates at 11 am.

A guided walk to An­zac Hill and a bar­be­cue will be held at Aus­tralian Lighthorse Memo­rial Park at 12.30 pm.

Open on both days will be the Sey­mour Rail­way Her­itage Cen­tre, Viet­nam Vet­er­ans Memo­rial Walk in­for­ma­tion booth, Sey­mour and District His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety dis­play, and the Sey­mour and District Art So­ci­ety dis­play.
