Seymour turns 175
Seymour is turning 175, and a weekend of celebrations is planned for November 10 and 11.
On the Saturday, a community street parade from the top of Station St will be held at 2 pm.
The parade will make its way to Kings Park where local groups will have displays.
That night, a pop-up cinema will begin at dusk at Kings Park — bring a chair or rug and watch Red Dog in the park.
On Sunday, commemorate 100 years since Armistice with a ceremony at the Seymour Hospital gates at 11 am.
A guided walk to Anzac Hill and a barbecue will be held at Australian Lighthorse Memorial Park at 12.30 pm.
Open on both days will be the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Walk information booth, Seymour and District Historical Society display, and the Seymour and District Art Society display.
Grab next week’s Telegraph for a souvenir program commemorating Seymour’s 175 years.
