Students show off skills
Seymour GOTAFE’s hospitality staff and their friends and families came together last week to celebrate the successes of the 2018 VETiS Hospitality students.
The VETiS hospitality program has been running at the Seymour campus for nine years and is currently led by GOTAFE trainers Jodi RechsteinerSanders and Jayson Sanders.
These hospitality students attend classes for two years, and this year’s cohort is made up of students from Seymour College, Wallan Secondary College, Seymour Flexible Learning Centre, Yea Secondary College and TAFE VCAL students.
The students have spent their time at GOTAFE divided between theory and practical skill development in the operating commercial kitchen, often catering for busy lunches in Shearers Restaurant throughout the year and gaining valuable workplace experience.
Trainers and students worked alongside each other to deliver a superb dinner to guests, allowing the students to showcase their talents and skills learned to their families and friends.
