Blood donations

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is thanking donors for their generosity when the mobile donor centre was in Seymour recently.

Donors gave 152 donations, saving an incredible 456 lives.

One in three Australians will need blood or a blood product in their lifetime, but only one in 30 currently donates.

The mobile donor centre will next visit Seymour from April 1-5 next year.

Club donation

Seymour Rock ’n’ Roll purchased a defibrillator with money raised from dances that the group runs three times annually.

The defibrillator will be fitted in to the VRI Hall for all hall users to use.

The club thanks Craig Hazelwood and Neil McLeod who helped the club with the information about the defibrillator, and gave them a demonstration on how it worked.

Thanks also to Des Ring for opening up the hall for the demo.
