WILD BOYS

“It’s Lord Of The Flies and The Lost Boys. That’s what attracted me to the script in the first place; the camaraderie of these young men who have no choice but to look after each other. It’s the story of a brotherhood.”

NEWT TRICKS

“Newt is an interesting guy. He’s been in the Glade [ the centre of a huge maze] for a long time and knows how the system works. When Thomas [ the main character] arrives with no memory, Newt gets on board.”

BORED OF THE FLIES

“Kind of like the Glade, the cast were staying in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, with nothing much to do. All we had was each other. If we hadn’t get on well with each other, the shoot would’ve been a different experience!”

A SNAKE I N THE GRASS

“The Glade was all real, just a field in Louisiana! It was really hot and we had five different type of venomous snakes. The snake minder would catch about ten a day...”

Not so young adult

“The film is actually quite scary and sinister. What I like is that it’s dirty. The make- up girls wouldn’t touch us, which I liked. It looks real, which it should do. When you watch the film, that sweat in the film is real sweat.”

IN THE LONG RUN

“We’re trying to create what fans imagine the story of the Maze Runner to be. I hope the film does well. I want to do it all over again. I want to see where these characters go.”

The Maze Runner is released on Friday 10 October.
