Stargate fans may recognise the name David Hewlett. Debug’s director is better known for playing Dr Rodney MacKay in the various shows. That’s the most interesting thing about this fun, but formulaic space shocker.

A team of young hackers board a derelict freighter, ready to clean out the ship’s computer systems. Unfortunately, the on- board AI has other plans, and begins picking them off one- by- one…

Some plasticky CG aside, Debug has a pleasing visual style, with the interior of the freighter coolly sterile and claustrophobic. Fellow Stargater Jason Momoa has fun snarling and leering as the rogue computer. He’s the best thing here – the other characters, sadly, appear to have beamed in from planet Genericon VI. There are a couple of good kills, but this is otherwise unremarkable fare.

Extras: None.
