It’s rubbish getting old, seeing the youngsters with their sex and drugs and beat music. Luckily, Professor Montserrat ( Boris Karloff ) has developed a way of experiencing these from afar. Using hypnosis, he can control young Mike Roscoe ( Ian Ogilvy) and feel what he feels. Unfortunately, Monserrat’s wife plans to use Mike for her own ends…

Witchfinder General’s Michael Reeves helmed this lethargic thriller. Karloff looks plenty troubled, but spends too long shackled to a sideboard. Still, the night life of London is captured well, and the concept of the old feeding off the young is strong.

Extras: “Intrusion”, Reeves’s debut short; a Reeves- themed episode of Channel 4’ s Eurotika ( 24 minutes); an overview by horror historian Johnny Mains.
