ALSO OUT

SFX: The Sci-Fi and Fantasy Magazine - - Cinema -

A handful more titles are due for release while SFX 255 is on the shelves, but sadly screenings missed our deadline. The big one is the third in the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay: Part One ( 20 November), in which Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss becomes a poster child for the rebellion – be sure to check out our feature over on page 46. Oh, and Stanley Kubrick’s trippy, enigmatic 1968 classic 2001: A Space Odyssey gets a reissue on the same day, courtesy of the BFI. Why not take an old bone along to your local screening and fling it in the air at the appropriate juncture? On to 5 December next, and Black Death/ Severance director Christopher Smith is the unlikely man in charge of festive Britcom Get Santa, starring Jim Broadbent as Mr Claus. If it’s slaying you’re after, not sleighs, best swerve that for The Pyramid, horror from Haute Tension writer Grégory Levasseur, in which a group of archaeologists get trapped in… well, take a wild guess.
