THE PITCH Goth- horror in which Loki scares

the pants off us. A project long delayed by the fact that del Toro took a sabbatical in Middle- earth before reluctantly travelling back to our own realm, Crimson Peak looks set to tickle our frightening fancies by being really bloody scary... a rarity with horror films these days. A gothic romance set in 19th- century Cumbria, it stars Hiddleston as Sir Thomas Sharpe, who his young bride Edith ( Wasikowska) soon starts to realise isn’t quite what you’d call an ordinary gentleman. The Woman In Black mixed with Rebecca, perhaps? Or will del Toro go all- out supernatural psycho, à la The Devil’s Backbone? Either way, he promises that “It’s a proper R rating.” Bless you, sir.
